Project to help with the schooling of disadvantaged children in rural areas. The project's objectives are to financially help families who have difficulty funding their children's schooling and to encourage them to continue their studies. The project was carried out in four stages: a preliminary survey of resource persons and households, the selection of beneficiaries, the implementation of the project and a monitoring-evaluation. Members of the NGO JADE visited the target villages to distribute school supplies and the annual FRAM contribution to the selected students. A monitoring-evaluation will be carried out to measure the children's progress within the school. In 2017, the distribution session took place in a classroom of the relevant EPP in the presence of representatives of the school, parents and students.

Fanara - October 16, 2017
The ceremony for the distribution of school supplies and payment of FRAM fees was held in the room of the Fanara public primary school in the presence of the headmistress, students and a few parents. Three members of the NGO JADE came by bush taxi to attend the event. The Vohitamboro fokontany, which includes the village of Fanara, is located about 35 km north of Tamatave and is accessible on foot or by motorbike. The inhabitants live mainly from growing rice, cassava and bananas, as well as fishing, with an average monthly income of about 40,000 MGA. The Fanara public primary school welcomes 180 children per day and is one of three schools in the same location.
Ambodisaina - October 16, 2017
The NGO organized a ceremony for the distribution of school supplies in the suburban outskirts of Toamasina, attended by the headmistress, school representatives, parents and all the children. Three members of the NGO went there by car or motorbike. Ambodisaina, where the fokontany is located, has about 3,285 inhabitants who live mainly from agriculture and the sale of charcoal and ravim-pontsy. The rural municipality has two public schools and three private schools. Inhabitants earn on average 40,000 Ariary per month.
This project enabled the schooling of 60 children (30 girls and 30 boys), about 9 years and 2 and a half months old, all of whom are in financial difficulty. The overall success rate of the students is 64%, with 29 students having reached the next grade level and 8 having obtained their CEPE. 38.8% of the children were supported by the SorOptimisten Pirna Association, while the others received help from private German donors. The total cost of the project amounts to 4,371,450 Ariary, or 1,285.72 euros, with an average cost of 72,857 Ariary per child for this school year. This amount represents a 12% increase compared to the previous year, due to the rise in prices of certain school supplies.
