Open Days 2019

Open Days 2019, held at the Alliance française de Tamatave from November 18 to 24, 2019, was an event focused on promoting free software and information and communication technologies (ICT). The event was divided into two phases, the first being a training bootcamp on Smart Homes and IoT, led by RALAIVO Jacques of Tsena Express in Antananarivo and ZAFINOA Kevin Jonah, an IT professional at Gasy Tech. The second phase consisted of conference talks and discussions, led by eight speakers, who presented various open-source topics.

The OPEN DAYS 2019 project was a success, with a total of 10 people taking part in the IoT bootcamp training on Smart Homes and IoT. About 50 people attended the various conference talks and discussions held over two days. In total, 16 presentations were given on various topics related to open source and IT in general, including a presentation by a technology company based in Madagascar. The event's overall objectives were achieved, even though the attendance rate was only 50%.

Overall, the Open Days was an important opportunity for IT professionals and information and communication technology enthusiasts to meet, share knowledge and explore the latest trends in free software and open source. The event also gave participants the opportunity to strengthen their skills and discover career opportunities in this ever-evolving field. Thanks to the efforts of the organizers, this event helped raise public awareness of the importance of open source and its potential to drive innovation and development in various fields.
