World Environment Day 2026: NGO JADE Celebrates in Toamasina with an Eco-Friendly Carnival
On 5 June 2026, to mark World Environment Day, NGO JADE (Jeunes Actifs pour le Développement) took part in a large eco-friendly carnival held in Toamasina to raise public awareness of environmental protection. This festive, educational event reflects NGO JADE's conviction that protecting the environment is not an option but an urgent necessity for Madagascar's future.
Through simple, striking messages carried during the parade, NGO JADE members encouraged the public to reduce waste, protect natural resources, and teach young people to respect nature. World Environment Day 2026 was an opportunity to remind everyone that every action, however small, contributes to a greener future for the island: reforestation, awareness-raising, and on-the-ground action are all part of NGO JADE's daily work in Madagascar.
Alongside the carnival, NGO JADE also carried out its beach clean-up in Ambila Lemaitso that same day, as part of its Ocean Initiative 2026, illustrating a full day of action combining awareness in the city with concrete action on the ground. NGO JADE thanks everyone who got involved, at their own level, for a more vibrant planet.
