Vogny Program 2021-2022

NGO Jade set up an after-school program on youth entrepreneurship called the VOGNY Program, funded by the German donor Mr. Toni Großmann, in eight partner high schools in the city of Tamatave. The program's objectives are numerous, including sharing the knowledge needed for an entrepreneurial mindset, encouraging young people to start their own business and develop strategies to keep it running, raising awareness of NGO Jade, and establishing strategic partnerships to achieve these goals. The results obtained are very encouraging, notably with 159 high school students enrolled across the four modules, four conferences held, and the participation of 50 students grouped into 25 teams in the project competition.

The first module of the VOGNY program, a course on personal development, ran from October 1, 2021 to December 3, 2021 in the eight schools involved. The instructor for this module was Davôlagna Succes. The first conference on leadership and personal development took place on December 4, 2021 in the main hall of C.E.D.I and focused on personal development and entrepreneurship, with speaker RATSARANDRO Heriniaina, Manager of Menta Quo Consulting.

The second module took place from December 5, 2021 to February 25, 2022, again in the eight schools involved, with courses on leadership, communication and responsibility, taught by Davôlagna Succes. The second panel discussion on leadership and entrepreneurship took place on February 26, 2022 in the main hall of C.E.D.I with speaker Yvan FABIUS, CEO of Pousse-pousse. The third module focused on entrepreneurial culture and ran from February 27, 2022 to April 15, 2022, with courses on project feasibility studies and break-even points, taught by the Institut Supérieur de Technologie Régional Atsinanana (ISTRA).

The third module of the VOGNY program ran from February 27, 2022 to April 15, 2022, with courses given by ISTRA (Institut Supérieur de Technologie Régional Atsinanana) on entrepreneurial culture, including courses on the definition of entrepreneurship, project feasibility studies and break-even points. The fourth and final module, held from June 16 to 17, 2022, was devoted to business creation, with courses on financial education, project design and formalization given by the Regional Directorate for Youth and Sports (DRJS) and ISTRA. On June 18, 2022, a panel discussion on entrepreneurial culture and business creation was organized with Dr. RAVELOHARIMISY Joël Luc of Andrews University and RANDRIANARY Mario of La Fabrique. The VOGNY program concluded with a project competition held on July 3, 9 and 13, 2022, where students presented and defended their projects before judges. Through this program, NGO Jade succeeded in providing young people in the city of Tamatave with important knowledge and skills to become responsible entrepreneurs.

The fourth and final module ran from June 16 to 17, 2022 and focused on business creation, with courses on financial education, project design and formalization, given by the Regional Directorate for Youth and Sports (DRJS) and ISTRA. The VOGNY program concluded with a project competition held on July 3, 9 and 13, 2022, where students presented and defended their projects before judges. This program was a success for NGO Jade and provided young people in the city of Tamatave with important knowledge and skills to become responsible entrepreneurs.

Support for the projects to be carried out under the VOGNY program took place from July 29 to December 31, 2022, with in-person and remote follow-up via social media. La Fabrique des Pratiques Entrepreneuriales de Tamatave was involved in this support, offering program beneficiaries professional assistance to successfully carry out their business projects. Thanks to this support, young entrepreneurs benefited from personalized assistance with project planning, business development and fundraising. The involvement of La Fabrique des Pratiques Entrepreneuriales was a key element in ensuring the success of this program.

Education in entrepreneurial culture is therefore an essential initiative for Madagascar's development, and this NGO Jade program is a concrete example of it. By sharing the knowledge and skills needed to create and sustain a business, young people in Tamatave were encouraged to become entrepreneurs and improve their city's labor sector. The results obtained show that the program was a success and generated interest among high school students, with higher participation than expected.
