Initiatives Océanes 2012 - Tamatave
Initiatives Océanes 2012 was organized from March 19 to 24 in Tamatave to raise awareness among young people from schools, associations and the general population about the harmful effects of plastic waste. Eleven institutions took part in this project, including universities and technical schools. In total, 24 bags were filled to 75%, or 3,600 liters of waste collected over a distance of 1.5 km. About 80% of this waste was plastic. The campaign also aimed to clean part of the Tamatave coastline between the nautical club and the shore.
