I am HERILALAINA Odilon Ilandy, an economics student at the University of Toamasina. I am determined to contribute to social development and environmental protection.
My commitment to ONG JADE is driven by my desire to promote education and entrepreneurship among young people,
particularly in rural areas of the former province of Toamasina. JADE is an organization that shares my values and ambitions,
notably through its mission of schooling disadvantaged children and promoting entrepreneurship.

Experience

January 2024–January 2026: Board Member – Auditor

Audit the NGO's accounts to ensure that financial transactions have been correctly recorded and that the financial statements reflect the NGO's actual situation.
Check that the NGO's financial transactions comply with the NGO's internal rules and procedures, as well as with applicable regulations and laws.
Verify expense justifications and supporting documents for the NGO's expenditures to ensure they are legitimate and consistent with the NGO's objectives.
Carry out internal audits to assess internal control systems and propose recommendations to improve the NGO's procedures and processes.
Prepare audit reports presenting their findings and recommendations, as well as their opinion on the NGO's financial statements.
Advise the NGO's management on accounting, tax, and financial practices, as well as on ways to improve the management of the NGO's resources.

January 2020 – January 2024: Treasurer of the JADE NGO

Oversee financial management, ensuring that financial resources are managed effectively, transparently, and responsibly.
Monitor the NGO's project expenses, ensuring they comply with the NGO's budgets and standards.
Provide regular financial reports to partners, donors, and local authorities, ensuring that financial information is accurate and transparent.
Assess the financial viability of the NGO's projects, ensuring they are financially sustainable in the long term and proposing solutions to improve their financial viability.

Take part in carrying out project tasks
Contribute to research and data collection on social and environmental issues, community needs, and possible solutions.
Take part in awareness campaigns on environmental issues and the promotion of ICT tools (Information and Communication Technology)
Carry out monitoring and evaluation of the NGO's projects
